#PRAY127 05.11.20

I’m so excited to share our #PRAY127 request for this week! Thank you for standing with us so faithfully this year.

As you know, the COVID-19 situation has brought a lot of fear and frustration to the world. As believers in Jesus, we know that all is well, and that nothing is outside of God’s overarching sovereign hand.

Just this morning I was reading in Isaiah 10 how God used Assyria, the “rod of His anger,” against His own people, Israel, to discipline them. Yet in Assyria’s mind, it was “By the strength of my hand I have done it.” Instead of worshipping God as the One who ordains each day before it comes to pass (Psalm 139:16), the King of Assyria boasted in his own strength.

God reminded him who’s in charge in verse 15:

Certainly God is not denying personal responsibility, but He makes sure we know that everything – even the bad – makes its path through Him. He is completely in charge. Everything for Him is a tool to bring about repentance, instruction, and the revelation of His love.

For us at Man Up, COVID-19 has in some ways brought more opportunities to serve than ever before. On the other hand, we’ve had to cancel several trips, make tough decisions about our resources, and have not been able to meet in our Man Up 100 Cohorts.

But next Monday, we’re trusting the God who wields the ax to fashion a beautiful evening together….you guessed it, online!

Next Monday, May 18, from 7:30 – 9:30 PM EST, we will host an online event we’re calling Fuel the Fight. During this two hour event we will broadcast on Facebook Live and YouTube and tell the Man Up story together with our Champions. We have many guest interviews, including those from partners and prominent positions within our community.

We believe God has ordained this night from eternity past to gather in a way we wouldn’t otherwise have done. Will you pray for this evening each day in the next week? We will look to raise some money – our ask is the cost it takes to fill your tank – but it’s more about gathering and sharing, telling the story God has given us.

Thank you for praying with us this week, and we invite you to join us whenever you can next Monday evening as we Fuel the Fight for the fatherless!
