Climb Mount Kilimanjaro Adventure Mission Trip – February/March 2021

This promises to be the trip of a lifetime for those who want to live out the abundant life Jesus talked about in John 10 alongside Man Up and Go in February/March of 2021. This trip is being billed as an “Executive” trip, but anyone who wants to raise the needed funds may participate. Men, women, competent teens with parents – all are welcome!

We will first travel to Tanzania to take on the tallest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, at 19,341 feet. Our theme for this Adventure Trip is “A Father for Every Child.” We’re climbing to raise funds and awareness for the fatherless.

After our summit on Kilimanjaro, we will then hop on a plane to Uganda and spend several days visiting all of our projects there. From schools for the children, to the feeding program, to men’s leadership, to vocational training for women, to the health clinic, and so much more, trip participants will see exactly why they’re raising funds. The average age in Uganda is just 15 years old, and 80% of these do not have a committed, engaged father in the house.

On our way out of the country we will take a full day to take on the Nile River and its Class 5 rapids. Climbing Kilimanjaro and rafting the Nile are merely symbolic of our determination to fight for the fatherless and take out fatherlessness altogether. We believe children benefit in every way by the presence of a loving, committed father in the home. As such, we truly do want to see A Father for Every Child.

New Videos – Climbing Kilimanjaro for the Kids

13 men signed up for the inaugural Climbing Kili for the Kids Adventure Mission Trip and Fundraiser we held last month and by all accounts, it was a smashing success!

Not only did all 13 men successfully make the Summit Bid, but each man was able to visit our partners in Uganda and see first hand the work God is doing there. Especially exciting is the work being done with our Authentic Masculinity Cohorts. Our Man Up team was blown away by the self-reported transformation taking place in these cohorts as men are learning to be better husbands, fathers, protectors, and providers for their families.

The hike up Kilimanjaro without question knocked off a bucket list item, but it was all the more meaningful as it was tied to the cause of fighting for the fatherless. For many of the men, it was one of the hardest challenges they’ve faced, yet each one overcame in his own way.

We hope to tell more stories about this adventure in the coming weeks and months, but for now, we’ve put together a two-episode documentary “short” for you to get a glimpse regarding what the trek was like. Enjoy, share with your friends, and thank you for your support!
